What is Oselvir-30?
Oselvir-30 is an antiviral capsule for influenza. Its active ingredient is oseltamivir, 30 mg per capsule, in a large box of 100 capsules (10 small boxes of 10), from brand owner Johnlee Pharmaceuticals. It treats influenza A and B and prevents influenza after contact with a case. This strength is mainly used for children weighing 15 kg or less and for adults with reduced kidney function.

- Treating acute uncomplicated influenza A and B when symptoms began no more than 48 hours ago (the reference information covers ages 2 weeks and over)
- Preventing influenza after contact with a case (the reference information covers ages 1 year and over)

Worth knowing while taking
Information is based on the oseltamivir reference prescribing information (the US Tamiflu label), which lists the same 30 mg capsule.
The 30 mg strength is mainly for children aged 1 to 12 years weighing 15 kg or less, and for adults with reduced kidney function. It is not the standard strength for adults with normal kidneys (that is 75 mg).
If a capsule cannot be swallowed, the reference information prefers the oral suspension.
For children weighing 23.1 to 40 kg the reference information uses 2 capsules (60 mg) per dose. People with more reduced kidney function, or on dialysis, need a still lower dose. Ask a doctor or pharmacist before use.
